2024 Dulux Colour Awards – entries open

28 November 2023

Architects, interior designers, specifiers and students from Australia and New Zealand are invited to submit projects that demonstrate an innovative, strategic, and commendable use of Dulux colour across exterior and interior residential, public and commercial spaces and a new category, Temporary or Installation Design.

Dulux Colour and Design Specialist Davina Harper says the awards provide an opportunity to draw focus on colour in design and to both celebrate and recognise local emerging and established design talent.

“The Dulux Colour Awards celebrates the creativity of design practitioners who use colour to transform spaces. In 2024, we’re excited to further this celebration of colour with the introduction of the new Temporary or Installation Design category, which aims to showcase the use of paint finishes in temporary, installation, exhibition, and brand promotional experiences.” says Harper.

“The level of sophistication and constraint exercised by architects and designers never fails to impress our panel, and we look forward to seeing how the judges appraise this year’s entrants.”

Our expert judges revealed

Five of New Zealand and Australia’s most prestigious architects and designers, who have been recognised and awarded for their own work, will judge the 2024 entrants’ based on innovation, expression and execution of colour.

This year’s panel features Pac Studio Director, Sarosh Mulla; Carter Williamson founder; Shaun Carter, WOWOWA Architecture co-founder, Monique Woodward; Studio Prineas founder, Eva-Marie Prineas; and Technē Architecture + Interior Design Co-Director, Nick Travers.

“We believe that colour is a key part in creating joyous and comforting places to live and work. The confident use of colour in the design of architecture has become an obsession of our practice.

“We always enjoy seeing the vast range of approaches to colour in the built environment and that is why I’m delighted to be judging the 2024 Dulux Colour Awards this year alongside such an esteemed panel of practitioners. Together we will be reviewing some of the most innovative projects across New Zealand and Australia.” said Sarosh Mulla, New Zealand jury member.
