Dulux awarded for ‘Excellence in International Trade’

20 November 2020

Dulux Powder Coatings has been awarded the “Excellence in International Trade” award at the Westpac Auckland Business of the Year awards.

This is fantastic recognition for all the hard work undertaken by past and present team members of the Dulux Powder Coatings ANZ and South East Asia teams.

The Westpac Auckland Business Awards are delivered annually by the Auckland Business Chamber.

The high-profile awards celebrate innovation and creativity in the business sector and have been a highlight of Auckland’s business calendar for over 15 years. As well as offering recognition for Dulux Powder Coating, the awards provide the opportunity to benchmark and gain expert advice on how your business can continue to grow. The awards are open to any business of any size located in the Auckland region. This year over 700 businesses entered across various categories.

The award recognises a business that has identified and maximised the benefits they offer by trading in the global market place and achieves sustainable growth. International Trade includes both importing and exporting via a product, service or technology.

Dulux Powder Coatings was recognised as an innovative business, competing in international markets across New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia by supplying high quality, value adding coatings under the Dulux and DGL Powder Coatings brands, in markets often dominated by low cost, generic products.

Neil Watkins, Country Manager for Dulux Powder Coatings in New Zealand said “We’re proud to employ over 50 people locally, many with more that 20+ years’ service. On top of this, our Customer Service and Admin Teams provide excellent service for both local and international customers, backed up by our local teams in those markets.”

A Gala dinner was held at the Codis hotel in Auckland. Over 500 people attended the awards dinner which was hosted by Michael Barnett (CEO of the Auckland Chamber) and MC’ed by Melisa Stokes (National TV News presenter).

The NZ Customer Service, Admin Team and senior managers Neil Watkins, Keith Watson and Konrad Welte attended the gala dinner and received well-deserved recognition for all the hard work done by current and previous team members, who have strived to break into new international markets, with new technology and fantastic customer service.

Congratulations to the team on this fantastic achievement!
